Seriously, You Got To Laugh At That!

I can’t seem to go through much of my day without looking at things and laughing out loud. All my life, I have had this ability to look at things a little bit different than most. Seriously, you got to laugh at that, I tell people quite often as I manage my day. It is a lot easier dealing with life’s ups and downs looking at things with a little humor. There are enough serious seconds, minutes, hours, days, and weeks in our lives, so why do I need to keep all of them in perfect order; do we really have to be diligent in our application of each and every second of every day. I can’t do it. I have been told, at times in my life, that I fly by the seat of my pants. Well, so what if I do, maybe I will even throw in a joke or two along the way to break up the monotony of the day, and there you go, a much better place to chill out in .

The great part of this, is that God gave us all the ability to have a sense of humor, and I believe that He wants us to use it, or else He wouldn’t have given us this attribute in our lives. Humor is a way of distraction, so why wouldn’t God want us to use humor in our lives? Jesus told us not to worry or be anxious about things in our lives in Matthew chapter 6, because all those events would take care of themselves with or without our worrying or being anxious about them. In Matthew 6:34 Jesus says,“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself.” Using humor is a way of distracting us from what is going on in our lives and side track us from being burdened by our concerns, or being too serious about certain things in our lives, which may or may not ever happen.

Humor is also a way just to have fun. I don’t know many people who do not like to laugh. When you see something funny, you want to laugh, not frown. Most of us like being around someone who is funny. When someone tells us a joke or does something outrageously funny, we want to laugh, seriously, you got to laugh at that, if it is funny. So this Blog today is simple, short, and to the point, just relax a little, don’t take yourself too seriously, and remember, you got to laugh a little more. Work when you need to, have fun a lot more, and have fun as much as you can with those around you. Who cares if you are flying by the seat of your pants.

Let’s only get serious about one thing, our relationship with God, if that is right, well then we are okay after that. Let God’s gift of humor run through you, allow it to be enjoyed in your life, participate in it, have fun with it, enjoy it, and remember seriously, you got to laugh at that circumstance that is right in front of you sometimes, because on occasion, things are just not worth getting all worked up over. Keep in mind, things are not always worth worrying or getting anxious about, remember that Jesus told us not worry in Matthew 6, so let’s don’t worry. Go ahead and allow yourself the freedom to laugh a little when times aren’t good, it’s okay. It is a nice distraction from our serious daily routines.

I hope you all give God glory today and are blessed,

Daryl Dho
